Interview with ACU International Scholarship recipient Posted on
We recently caught up with one of our ACU International Scholarship recipients, Sarina Manandhar from Nepal.

Sarina, who is currently studying a Master of Professional Accounting, is one of the recipients of the International Student Scholarships (ISS) offered exclusively to 20 international students every year. Sarina explained that this was a major factor in her choosing ACU. “I received the prestigious International Student Scholarship which not only minimized my financial burden but also encouraged me to see the future, a future of myself”. The ISS offers students a 50% tuition fee waiver. This wasn’t the only reason Sarina chose ACU, she says. “The reputation of ACU and feedback from my peers studying there was great. While choosing the University, I met with many marketing representatives of different universities at Education fairs back at home. The ACU marketing representatives handled my queries well, responded to my emails promptly, guided me properly which made my application process so easy”.

“I feel that sense of belonging here, a home far away from home may be because of the approachable and supportive staff. Whoever I have interacted with, be it the international office staff, careers staff, student enrichment staff or the academic skills staff, they have been so helpful and supportive”.

In relation to life on campus, Sarina says “My University life has been such fun and rewarding. I have always said this and I will always say this – joining ACU was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. Because of ACU, I have had exposure to a lot of opportunities, which have broadened my wings and helped me grow. I am volunteering a lot and involved in many projects, mostly related with international student welfare and well-being. I believe these are the golden years of life that will never come back. I think we should make the most out of it. This is exactly what I am doing and I am enjoying every bit of my university life”.
